Plinko: the ball-drop rules, and the "Plinko hack" trap

In Plinko a ball is released from the top of a pyramid-shaped board. It bounces off pins and lands in one of the slots at the bottom, and the result follows that slot's multiplier. It may look like a physics game, but where the ball lands is decided by the game's random method. So apps claiming to "tell you the ball's path in advance", Telegram signals and "Plinko hack APKs" are all scams. Can a Plinko hack or predictor make the ball land in a chosen slot?

No. In online Plinko, whether the ball goes left or right at each pin is not decided by the on-screen animation but by the game's random number generator. Providers such as Spribe use a "Provably Fair" method, so the result cannot be changed after the ball is released and can be verified later. No outside app can get into this calculation, and there is no such thing as the "right moment" to drop the ball.

The scams you see most around Plinko:

"Timing bot": claims that pressing at a certain second makes the ball land in an edge slot. The result does not depend on when you tap.
"Mod APK, unlimited balls": usually an app that steals passwords or SMS. If it asks for strange permissions during install, you know.
"Join the group, guaranteed profit every day": takes a fee first, then disappears or asks for more money for "premium".
"Register through this link and the hack will work": the link is often to a fake lobby, where deposited money never comes back.

How do you play Plinko?

Several providers make Plinko, so the screen can differ a little. The main steps are almost the same:

Type "Plinko" in the lobby search and check the provider name. If you cannot find it, what the lobby has is final.
Set your bet amount.
If the game offers the options, choose the risk level and the number of pin rows.
Drop the ball. It bounces off the pins and stops in one of the slots at the bottom.
The result is your bet times that slot's multiplier. Some slots have a multiplier below 1, meaning you get back less than your bet.

Unlike Aviator or Mines, there is no cashout halfway. Once the ball is released there is nothing more to do, so any decision has to be made before you drop it.

What happens when you change the risk colour or pin rows?

In Spribe's Plinko, risk is shown with coloured balls: green is low risk, yellow is medium, red is high. You can choose 12, 14 or 16 rows of pins. Other providers' games may use different names or options, so check the game screen in your own lobby.

The general rule is that the middle slots of the board have low multipliers and the edges have higher ones. The ball lands towards the middle most of the time and at the edges less often. Choosing higher risk makes the edge slots bigger but the middle slots even smaller, in some settings zero. Lower risk means smaller swings. More rows means more slots, and reaching the edge becomes even harder.

How is Plinko different from other fast games?

In Aviator you decide when to get out; in Mines you decide how many tiles to open. Plinko has no such mid-round decision; all you control is the bet amount, the risk level and the number of rows. That is why many people see it as "simple", but simple does not mean low risk. Each ball is over in seconds, so many bets pile up in a short time.
